Account analytics for email

Use account analytics to examine your email marketing data across your account.


Account analytics is a great way to view all of your email marketing data from your account in one place.

Account analytics can help you:
  1. See how your account is performing: where things are working well and where you might benefit from greater focus.
  2. Export all of your email data into .CSV files for further analysis or other uses outside of Dotdigital.


Access Account analytics for email

To access Account analytics for email, go to Analytics > Account analytics.


Manage reporting data

With Account analytics, you can choose the time period you want to see data for, as well as filter the report for specific campaign tags if you want to.



Set date range

Use the date range filter to show data from a specific period of time.
  1. Select DATE RANGE in the top-right to open the Date options side panel.
  2. Choose either:
    1. Pre-defined date range
      Expand the date range drop-down menu and select your pre-defined date range.
    2. Custom date range
      Use the date picker to choose your Start date and End date.
  3. You can select a maximum date span of two years.
  4. Select APPLY.

Add campaign tag filter

You can add campaign tag filters, to add tagged campaigns to your analytics:
  1. Select FILTER in the top-right to open the Campaign tag filter side panel.
  2. Select the checkboxes for the campaign tags you want to include in your analytics. You can use the Search field to find specific tags.
Select the Tag name checkbox at the top to quickly include or exclude all campaign tags.


Email highlights

The Email highlights tiles display an overview of email metrics for your account.

You can change the metric displayed on individual tiles if you want to. To do this, expand the title drop-down menu for the tile and select a metric.


Metric performance

Use the metric performance graph to compare up to six metrics from across your account.

Add metrics to the graph

  1. Select EDIT to the bottom right of the graph to open the Selected metrics side panel.
  2. Select the + icon for an empty slot and choose a metric to add to the graph.
    To remove a metric from the graph select the X button.

  3. Select APPLY.

Statistics

Statistics shows you a table of email metrics from across your account.

Display metrics

To select which metrics to display on the table:
  1. Select DISPLAY.
  2. Select the checkboxes next to the metrics you want to show. Clear the checkboxes to remove metrics from the table.

  3. Select APPLY.

Campaign performance for single campaign

Use the single campaign performance graph to compare multiple metrics for a single campaign.

 


Choose a campaign

To choose a campaign to display data for:
  1. Select SINGLE CAMPAIGN at the top of the Campaign performance section.
  2. Select the SHOW pencil icon to the top right of the graph.

  3. For Campaign type, choose STANDARD or TRIGGERED to display your standard or triggered campaigns

  4. Select a campaign from the list.

Add metrics to the graph

To add a metric to the graph:
  1. Select EDIT to the bottom right of the Campaign performance graph open the metrics side panel.

  2. Select the + icon for an empty slot and choose a metric to add to the graph.
    To remove a metric from the graph select the X button.
  3. Select APPLY.

Campaign performance for multiple campaigns

Use the multiple campaigns performance graph to compare multiple campaigns against a single metric.

Choose the graph’s metric

To choose the graph’s performance metric:

  1. Select MULTIPLE CAMPAIGNS at the top of the Campaign performance section.
  2. Expand the SHOW drop-down menu to the top right of the graph, then select the metric you want to display.


Add campaigns to the graph

To add a campaign to the graph:
  1. Select EDIT to the bottom right of the graph to open the campaigns side panel.

  2. Select the + icon for an empty slot to choose a campaign to add to the graph.
  3. For Campaign type, choose STANDARD or TRIGGERED to display your standard or triggered campaigns.

  4. Select a campaign from the list.
    To remove a campaign from the graph select the X button.
  5. Select APPLY.

Date granularity selector

To choose how the graph displays date data:
  1. Expand the graph’s date granularity drop-down menu to the top right of the graph.
  2. Choose a new date granularity from the list.

Campaign comparison

Use the campaign comparison table to view a table comparing the metrics of your selected email campaigns.

Add campaigns to the table

To add campaigns to the table:
  1. Select ADD / REMOVE CAMPAIGN to open the campaigns side panel, then select ADD.

  2. For Campaign type, choose STANDARD or TRIGGERED to display your standard or triggered campaigns.
  3. Select the checkbox next to the campaigns you want to add.
  4. You can select a maximum of 20 campaigns. To remove a campaign from the table select the X icon. To remove all selected campaigns, select CLEAR ALL.
  5. Select SELECT.

Display metrics

To display metrics on the table:
  1. Select DISPLAY.
  2. Select the checkboxes next to the metrics you want to add. Clear the checkboxes to remove metrics from the table.
  3. Select APPLY.
To order the table’s data, expand the Sort by dropdown menu and choose a sort order.

You can also select any of the table’s column headers to sort the table data by the selected metric. Select the header again to switch between ascending or descending order.

Export email account analytics data

You can export data as a CSV file from the following areas of Account analytics for email:
  1. Email highlights - select EXPORT CSV
  2. Statistics - select EXPORT.
  3. Campaign comparison - select EXPORT and then select either:

    1. Export table 
    2. Exports the table as displayed.
    3. Export all campaigns
    4. Exports all campaigns and metrics, regardless of which columns you have selected on the page.
